Savannah Red Rice

Budget friendly casserole for when you are out of ideas and money. An easy dish to make from rice, canned crushed tomatoes and bacon or ham. It can be served as a side dish or the main coarse. I have made this on the top of the stove when I didn’t want to wait for it to bake. Also have made this using different kinds of sausage or canned tomatoes that I had on hand. It is really a budget friendly and versatile dish.

The grocery stores are starting to fill their shelves again. I have a rice container that I usually fill a couple times a year. It is getting low so I will soon have to buy some again. My mother always kept rice in bulk so I just copied her. It will probably be a while before I will be able to buy a large bag. Thanks for the comment.
