Wilton has brought back every year for the last 6 years Halloween skeleton bones candy mold. I make brownies and decorate them with these skeleton pieces. The mold can be seen here . Any hobby shop that carries candy making supplies will probably have this inexpensive mold. I was surprised that they still made the mold because I have had mine for a long time. I should replace it because it is starting to crack from all the use.
Halloween Skeleton Brownies
The items that you will need;
- Wilton Halloween skeleton bones candy mold
- 1 bag of white candy melts or a block of almond candy melt
- 1 or 2 boxes of family size brownie mix
- 9 inch by 13 inch baking pan
- 1 or 2 cans of chocolate frosting
- some chocolate cookies to crush to make dirt
- large cup cake papers or small paper doilies
The mold only makes two sets of skeleton bones so you have to spend an afternoon melting white candy melts and filling the mold. The candy sets up quickly when the mold is placed in the refrigerator. Make up the bones a day or two before baking the brownies. Plan on making two batches of brownies because they disappear very quickly.
It is simple to do, just cut the brownies after they have cooled into rectangle pieces in a size big enough to place the skeletons on. Place them on large cupcake papers or small paper doilies because they are easier to pick up and eat that way. Frost the brownies first with chocolate frosting then place the pieces into the frosting. Add some crushed cookie crumbs on top.
I didn’t have any chocolate cookies but the grand kids insisted we needed crushed cookies on top. That is what is fun when decorating with kids. They didn’t care if the crumbs were chocolate. They figured any cookie would work for dirt.
The pictures are from last year. The grand kids will see the post and insist we do it again this year.
Cute brownies!

It is a nice little mold to add to your baking gear. I usually don’t promote a product but I have been using this mold for a long time for Halloween treats for the grand kids that is has now become a tradition. It must be popular because they keep bringing it back each year. Thanks for taking time to comment.
