Years ago this recipe was inspired by the back of a soup can. I don’t remember what the recipe’s title was but that it had Bavarian in it. It was inexpensive and quick to make. It takes only 30 minutes to make this. My family loved it. I have been making a version of it ever since. It tasted like green bean casserole with additional flavor of the kielbasi sausage and creamy pasta.
Bavarian Style Sausage Pasta Dinner
1/2 pound Kielbasi sausage cut in bite size pieces
- 1/2 onion sliced into rings
- 2/3 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup mushroom pieces
- 1 can green beans
- 1 can condensed mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 pound cooked fettuccine
While pasta is cooking, in a large skillet brown kielbasi with onions, celery and mushrooms on medium high heat. Saute until cooked and vegetables are tender. Add drained green beans, soup and milk. Stir until blended on medium low heat. Cook until the mixture bubbles. Add drained cooked pasta to skillet and toss. Serve immediately.
This is a good recipe to use when you are out of ideas and out of money.
